Yesterday, I spent my whole evening helping Jared edit his blog. Everything went right in a few moments, but I accidentally lost the codes for his tagboard. Hope he doesn't get too angry...
Today's lessons was quite ok, with Ms Teo and Ms Ho not in school, which leaves us with 2 more Science periods with Mr Chew. This term's acids, bases and salts are quite difficult and takes quite a lot of skill to manage its different chemicals. Glad that he went through it again with us for me to get a better picture of the whole thing. I also just realised that Potassium hydroxide is an alkali, how silly of me! During English period, we got another descriptive writing composition to do by Ms Hoa. It was all thanks to Swee Kheng and Ren Yang, who didn't do the descriptive essay, which was supposed to be handed up by today.
We ended lessons at 12.50pm to go and went to cheer for our C division table tennis team. Bryan played quite well and defeated the Josephians hands down. I met some old classmates like Calvin and Zhao Dong there, which were our opposition. Sadly, it clashed with the Sports Day's heats. We were very anxious, fearing that we would be late for the heats. Especially for me, I had to run the 400m finals. Still, at 3.30pm, the teacher refused to let us leave the arena before the whole event ended. This was one of the few times 2J was so rebellious, and all of us ran out of Chung Cheng High School without the teacher's consent =P.
By the time we reached the school, it was already 4.30pm. I was told that 400m finals had ended and the teachers scheduled me to run on another day. I was totally astonished at hearing Leon's and Kenneth's 61s. All I can hope for now is just securing fourth place and earn more points for my class, but it still boils down to my condition on Wednesday to do that timetrial. Without the competitve spirit around me on Wednesday, I doubt I will do a fast timing, sigh...
Here comes our 16 by 200m finals. This is the time when 2J can show their class spirit through action on the field. Everything went wrong from the start, with Wei Ming and Teng Seng at a rehearsal in the Auditorium. Although they promised the will still run for the class, we were all afraid that they couldn't make it in time. This caused us to beg Jia Ju to run, with Bryan the other substitute. He gave us lots of excuses, but in the end the class still managed to convince him that he should play a part for the class. All these were useless when Wei Ming and Teng Seng suddenly popped up at the right time. Everyone was relieved, and I went into my mental preparation for the race itself. As I was psyching myself up, I suddenly thought of reshuffling the positions in such a manner that we might win. Our last 3 runners were alot faster than our first 4 runners. I am not sure why everyone headed my advice to change Bryan's and Teng Seng's place, but it sure ended up as a wonderful tactic. So in the end, the positions are 1. Jonathan 2. Xing Han 3. Jared 4. Bryan 5. Eu Jin 6. Yong Lin 7. Shaun 8. Min Zhe 9. Arthur 10. Shuen Chun 11. Darius 12. Eddie 13. Kae Xiang 14. Teng Seng 15. Wei Ming 16. Kai Ming . After some hard work put in by Jon, Xing Han and Jared, we were already 4th. This was when my tactic worked out perfectly fine, with Bryan overtaking 2 others, which put us in 2nd position. It all seemed that our class was destined for the 2nd place, as I was preparing to receive the baton from Shaun. Michael from 2F got the baton first, and he blasted away. Once I got the baton, everything went smoothly, as though it was just a normal training. Just as I curved in at the 150m mark, I realised I was closing the gap and he kept on turning back to look at me. I thought it was the right time to whack and I started chasing him. With 80m left, I was already side by side with him and thought of pulling the gap for my class. In the end, I think I only led by a little, not sufficient enough for Arthur to keep on pushing for the first place. Arthur was overtaken and the race ended with 2J second. 2J rocks! I love you! This years soccer ball won from this race is for me to keep, as agreed, after getting none of them last year in the school cross country. Yea!
